Hello Draper Residents,

We had outstanding attendance at the Supreme Court hearing!  The court room was packed. Thank you for your successful efforts to be there and get the word out to our neighbors. We are also grateful for the articles and news broadcasts about the plight of residents to get the TRAX route located along the I-15 commercial and traffic corridor instead of low density neighborhoods.

It was interesting to watch the hearing.  The Supreme Court Justices had notable questions for all three attorneys (CRT, UTA and Draper attorneys) involved.  At this point, it is a wait and watch period until we get the ruling.

We will continue to keep you up-to-date on the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) currently being conducted by the FTA and UTA. (There will be other public hearings).  Read about the EIS on our website.

One important point that came out at the trial is that agreement on the route is important in order to get FTA approval and funding for the project.  It is therefore extremely important to write the FTA and let them know the following:

  1. The alternatives analysis conducted by UTA was incomplete and flawed.
  2. The people want a full study of all viable routes which include State Street and routes west of the I-15 corridor.
  3. The EIS phase of the project should be put on hold until a full alternative analysis is completed so that money is not spent on a route that is not the best choice.
