Press Release

Draper Residents to hold Community Voice Meeting in opposition to proposed UTA TRAX route through residential neighborhoods.

Draper, UT –November, 2006 – Draper Residents will be holding a Community Voice Meeting Wednesday November 8th at 7PM at the Draper Library, 1136 East Pioneer Road (12400 South).

Residents will voice their opposition to UTA’s proposed “Right of Way” (ROW) TRAX route through the heart of Draper residential neighborhoods.  This Community Voice Meeting is planned to voice the views of Draper Residents prior to the Draper City Council meeting November 14, 2006, where the Draper City Council plans to vote on this issue.

A Press Conference will be held to make the voice of Draper Residents known Wednesday November 8th, 2006 at 7:15PM at the Draper City Library (1136 East Pioneer Road).

All media is invited and their attendance would be greatly appreciated!

Draper Residents support mass transit as well as TRAX in Draper, so long as the TRAX route does not negatively impact the community, as the proposed ROW route clearly would.  Draper Residents clearly support UTA’s alternative proposal of the “State Street” route, and they hope their City Council members will represent their constituents accordingly.

Draper Residents made their voice known to the City Council by collecting over (800) signature in a matter of days in opposition to the proposed ROW TRAX build-out through Draper residential neighborhoods.

Draper Residents will oppose any plans to move forward with UTA’s ROW route, with legal action, if necessary.
